“A little perspective, like a little humor, goes a long way.” – Allen Klein
To me success is a matter of perspective. What one person deems failure another can deem success. It all depends on your point of view and, usually, successful people tend to have a more positive outlook on life and that’s not just because they are successful!
A positive attitude can work wonders for your way of life. Instead of seeing the glass as half empty, start seeing it as half full, you’ll be amazed to see how impactful a simple change of perspective can be. Frustrated at work because it took so long to solve a problem? Congratulate yourself for finding a solution rather than beating yourself up because you didn’t think of it fast enough. Going for a run and don’t think you can make your target distance/time? Push yourself to the end and marvel in your sense of pride for simply finishing, rather than quit early and regret it. Have a long list of things to do? Just get it done rather than procrastinate, rush and stress to get things done before deadline at a later date. It’s all about perspective.
As well as allowing you to accomplish more, positivity is contagious. The people around you will feel that they too can do better and as a team you will achieve better results. Moreover, nobody likes a negative person. Having a positive attitude can greatly impact your social situations and make you more likeable and attractive, since positivity goes hand in hand with confidence.
To summarise, having a positive perspective on life, will lead to a strong/healthy/comfortable lifestyle. Conversely, having a negative perspective on life will lead to depression and an uncomfortable lifestyle. While it’s not always possible to be positive about everything, it doesn’t mean you should be negative either. Find the middle ground and see how a change of perspective can lead to a change of lifestyle.
